After a successful year in the Home of Chrome, the girlz are very excited to _what_ and _where_ the new year will bring them!
News year 2006
In 2006 Missy, Ms.X, trito, and Liefje flocked to Stockholm, Sweden to live in the Home of Chrome, all-female gaming house. For 1 year we lived together, travelled together, and practiced- all, day, long!
News year 2005
2005 was a great year and we managed to take top3 positions in msQuakeCon and win $30.000. We were also lucky to get in contact with our great sponsor VIA. We went to several events this year including E3Expo, DreamHack, QuakeCon, CPL, Tokyo Game Show and Digital Life.
News year 2004
2004 was a really good year for us as we got a sponsorship from Razer. Razer helped us getting to WCG in San Fransisco and Sitex in Singapore. Read news from 2004.
News year 2003
2003 was a great year for us, for a few different reasons but, mainly because some of us got to meet in real life at Quakecon for the first time. We had lots of fun, and also competed in MsQuakecon females tournament. In other news, Ms.X moved to Europe and is no longer ping worthy in NA!!
News year 2002
As we gathered more and more female players, our team was coming along nicely. We held a top rank in the Rocket Area North American ladder, playing 4v4.
News year 2001
girlz 0f destruction began in October of this year so at this point we were just becoming an established clan, mainly playing Rocket Arena III.

Changes to the team
It's been a while since the girlz have made changes to the roster but we have some very exciting new changes to announce! Firstly, one of our team founders Jamie "Missy" Pereyda has left the team to persue other endeavours. We wish her the best of luck with her future ventures and still hope to see her at upcoming tournaments.

Secondly we have added a new player. Her name is Trinelin "Elin" Olsson and her joining the team has been a long-time coming. We first met her in Sweden when we were living in the gaming house but now she's living in sunny San Dieo. She's a hardcore Unreal Tournament player and we're very happy to have her on board. Check her profile out here.

Home of Chrome closure

As time goes by quickly, it has been a whole year since the Home of Chrome was born. The idea was to keep the house running for 12 months and now, sadly it's time to say goodbye.

The popular eSports training facility is located in Stockholm, Sweden and was put together by VIA Technologies and the girlz 0f destruction to provide gamers from around the world to train for tournaments. In the end, there was a great response from professional gamers who frequented the house throughout 2006.

Statement from Timothy Brown, Marketing manager of VIA Technologies

"VIA considers the Home of Chrome project and working with the girlz  0f destruction an unqualified success, it was a great year marketing the Chrome brand to the professional gaming enthusiast market" said Timothy Brown, VIA International Marketing Manager. "VIA would like to thank the girlz 0f destruction for their efforts and innovative approach to this unique sponsorship opportunity in 2006 and wish them only more success for 2007."

Statement from Alana "Ms.X" Reid, girlz 0f destruction team leader

"Through our partnership with VIA Technologies, our team was fortunate enough to travel to numerous gaming events in different countries, and create a gaming house that was open for players to use for training. The house has been a wonderful success and although we are sad to leave it, we are very happy to have been a part of this project. On behalf of myself and the team, we would like to extend our thanks VIA for their continued support and efforts in the growth of professional gaming."

Thanks to everyone who made 2006 such a great and memorable year!! Despite the house closing, we will keep the girlzgaminghouse website up and running.

CES was awesome!

Big place, lots and lots of gadgets and the latest technology showcased. Just my kind of place. RocketQueen, my mother and I had a nice time there cruising the show floors and checking out all of the latest. I have to say...being the gamer that I am, the highlight of the show for me was getting to play Crysis at the Dell booth, and Rainbow Six: Vegas at the ATI booth. Both were really fun, and I'm eager to play more!

Crysis was in the pre-alpha testing, so the game definitely won't be available until at least spring is my guess, but were the graphics ever amazing! I wonder why the multiplayer will pan out...hmm! Rainbow Six was also pretty cool, though I was only able to play it for a quick few minutes but it was mutiplayer mode and enjoyable. I think I need to pick me up a copy . I'm back at the Gaming house now, it's really nice to be back as I've been on the road for over a month and there's nothing quite like home sweet home after that long! All the best in the New Year everyone! ~ciao
