We have no signed up for Quake Live TDM in ClanBase. There are now 80 clans signed up for this cup and I think it’s really promising when so many clans are interested in QuakeLive. Go here to see a list of signed clans.
Since we want to make sure we are not missing out on any games because our players might be away traveling or working this summer we have also signed some extra players outside the team. You can check out our team at the ClanBase website.
I play soccer in a team and we have league games every weekend. Yesterday we had our weekly game and I accidently fell and hurt my left wrist. The wrist got really swollen and I couldn’t move the hand that much. I had to go to the hospital where an x-ray confirmed I had a wrist fracture. They put my arm in a cast that has to stay on for some weeks.
Right now I don’t think I will be able to play that much Quake for some days. I am able to type, but not fast. And it hurts a bit so I need to take breaks. But after I’ve typed for a while the fingers get less stiff, so I think it’s possible I soon will be able to play a game every now and then as long as I rest between games.
In the latest update of Quake Live a new map was released: Hidden Fortress, or qzdm20. Yesterday I gave it a try and played some public CA games and then a mixed CA pcw. The map consits of two bigger main rooms and mid sized room. The rooms are conected with hallways on two levels. It also has two teleporters, leading to the big main rooms. I haven’t played the mad in any other gametype than CA, so I haven’t checked out the item placement. But for CA the map works and it’s fun to play. For those of you that haven’t seen the new map I recorded a demo giving you a tour. Remember though, this video does not show you cool jumps on the map. It is just a simple video that shows you what Hidden Fortress looks like:
As most of you probably know the Italian skilled girl Videl joined girlz 0f destrcution a couple of month back. Videl has a long history in gaming as she started to play online games 2001. Her first online game was Quake 3 and she stayed with that game for many years. In 2007 she moved on to playing Warsow, but her love for Quake was always there, so when Quake Live closed beta came out, she went back to Quake. She is now playing Quake Live active, you can often find her on european CA servers. She is also playing in the ESL ladders and cups. She has the first position in the Italian ESL ladder.

Most people know it’s a good thing to make a backup of your harddrive every now and then, to prevent losing important things if the harddrive would crash. Some people are playing with the fire and don’t make a backup since they are lazy, or they believe their harddrive won’t crash. These people often have to learn it the hard way, like I did some years ago. My harddrive died and all my photos and other important things, died with it. From that day I make frequently backups.
But there are also other things that might be good to have a backup for. As a gamer one of the most important equipment is your mouse. Do you have a backup mouse at home in case your own breaks? Luckily enough I do and I think it’s time to start using it soon. I’ve used my mouse for about 4 years now and the thumb button is about to break. It feels a bit loose and sometimes it doesn’t register my push. As soon as I start using the backup mouse I will buy a mouse, exactly the same, to be prepared for when the backup mouse needs a backup.
If you are looking for us on the QuakeLive servers you often tend to find us on CA servers. CA is a game type we all girls enjoy playing. Yesterday ESL announced a CA cup and of course we didn’t want to miss out on the fun. We are now signed up for the cup and we are looking forward to some CA action!
