This weekend I was very busy saving the princess and the world - not the cheerleader and the world;). I was playing the last galaxies of Super Mario Galaxy, I went to the middle of the universe and I beat Bowser. I’ve really enjoyed playing this game and I think I will miss it… Lucky for me there are still some secret stars to collect, so I still have a couple hours of gaming time, even if the princess is already safe.
So far Zelda 3 for Super nintendo has been my all time favorite console game, but I must say Super Mario Galaxy is close to that first position now. The only thing I’ve found a bit annoying playing the game, is the fact that you can not always change camera angle. Sometimes you can’t even see where you are going. But despite of that, Super Mario Galaxy is a super fun game. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should.
Game over!
4 commentsEveryone is back home and settled after a hectic week at CES. The girls did a fantastic job at the Belkin booth and out of many games played over the course of the event, the girls only walked away with a combined 1 loss. Way to go! Unreal 3 looks interesting though whenever I went to try it the practice stations were all taken up with people wanting to try out the Belkin N52te, which is what the girls were using in their shootout. On the last night of the event We went out for dinner with Belkin at a really nice restaurant (which I would recommend if in Vegas) at the Grand Lux Cafe in the newest hotel on the strip, the Palazzo. Here is a photo taken just after dinner:
During the day Therese and I went over to the Entropia Universe booth, which is a game she was familiar with and wanted to talk to some of the Swedish staff that were at the booth. They invited us to a party they were having, so after dinner we went on the ultimate mission to find a taxi to take us over to the Palms casino. Eventually, we did make it there…..and what an interesting party it was! Jon “NeverDie” Jacobs was the star of the show and it looks like they were shooting a music video. We managed to get a short video on camera which can be seen down below. I also later realized that Jon Jacobs was that man you heard on the news a while back who invested a large sum of money into virtual real estate, in Entropia Universe. Very interesting! I think I might check out the game as I’m very curious now
Due to some problems with embedding I will provide the link to the video instead: Enjoy!!
6 commentsNow we have uploaded some photos from CES, to look at them head to our flickr account. Below you can see some of the photos:
Me playing a shootout in the Belkin booth.
RocketQueen is playing and Ms.X is watching
The challenges frags counted and the top fraggers got on the leader board. Top 5 challengers of the day got their own N52te.
After I was finished playing shootouts one day I was really tired and Ms.X brought me some Stoked. This is the first time I taste the drink and it was yummi!
4 commentsWe have limited access to internet from our hotel, so we haven’t been able to write any blogs or updates about what’s going on here at CES. Three days of the events have now past and we are having a lot of fun. We have a nice setup in a gaming area in the Belkin booth (pics will be up as soon as I get back to Sweden). Me and RocketQueen have been taking turns playing shootouts in Unreal Tournament 3 to demonstrate the cool new N52te from Belkin. After each day is over the five gamers that have got most the frags on us have received there own Belkin speed pad. So far we have been doing well in the shootouts and today no one even managed to get a frag against me.
Today we also received a load of Stoked eneergy drinks and I stoked about it since it was my first taste of the drink. It’s good for sure to get some extra energy when you are gaming all days long.
4 commentsRight now I’m sitting at the airport in New York waiting for my connecting flight to Las Vegas. Tomorrow CES is starting and I’m really excited about this event. To be in Las Vegas feels a bit nostalgic for me. The very first trip I went on with girlz 0f destruction was to Los Angeles and E3 year 2005. This is were I met most of the team members for the first time.
What does Las Vegas has to do with this? After the event we stayed some extra days and we took a road trip to Las Vegas. I had a lot of fun with the girls and going back there now will remind me of my first journey with the clan.
I’m also looking forward the shootout in the Belkin booth. First of all we are gonna play Unreal Tournament 3, it feels very fresh to play such a new game. And even though I’m a Quake kind of girl, I still enjoy to play UT 3 a lot.
A couple of days ago I also received my own copy of N52te, the keyboard we are gonna use in the shootouts. Some years ago I was actually looking for a smaller keyboard since I feel my gaming position would be more optimal if I had the mouse and the keyboard hand closer together. I even bought a tiny keyboard, but it didn’t work for gaming since certain keys came in conflict while pressing them the same time. With this unit from Belkin I’m able to put the keyboard hand much closer to my mouse hand and I like it a lot.
The things I am most impressed with using the N52te are the different color maps you can create as well as the key binding.
Using different color maps/profiles you can bind your n52te to work different with different games and programs. And you can even bind a key that toggles the different profiles you have. That is, you an use one profile for FPS games, one profile for racing games and why not use one profile to control windows. Because when you bind the keys you will get many options of how to bind to the keys. You can even record your own macros and have one key press represent several actions, for example a rocket jump.
Keep checking our website during CES, we will try to make updates about what’s going on.
7 commentsOh yes…this could get interesting
Both trito and RocketQueen will be at this years annual Consumer Electronics Show from January 6th-1th in Las Vegas. The girlz will be there doing a shootout on the PC with the new game, Unreal 3. Though the team is familiar with taking on challenges at events, there is something new to add to the equation: Playing at the Belkin booth using the n52te - have a look at this interesting little contraption!
I have yet to try it, but it looks very intriguing. If you will be attending CES you should definitely stop by the Belkin booth @ 30368 South hall. The girls may also come equipped with s stash of Stoked Energy drinks to keep them on the ball for this new venture. I am going to try and make it myself, CES is definitely a cool event to check out and…viva, Las Vegas!
8163 commentsI’m so excited for the new years! I know that ‘08 is going to be a great year for girlz 0f destruction!! Its going to be so much fun and I cant wait to meet all of my team mates and kick ass in tournaments! I’m looking forward to Quake Con, and WCG and I really wanna make it out to the CGS tournaments to cheer on Liefje! My new years resolution is just to become the ultimate Pwn Goddess of 2008! What’s yours??
3 commentsLast days I’ve been so addictive to a flash game I’ve found online: Traveler IQ Challange. You get a map of the world, countries are marked out by different colors, but there are no country or city names. When you start the game a random selected city name will show up and you have to decide it’s destination by clicking at the map. You score when you click close to the actual destination and if you click fast.
The best part with this game is that you learn a lot about geography. Because of gaming events and tournaments I’ve been lucky to travel all over the world and it’s extra fun when cities I’ve been to are asked for.
Give the game a try, it’s really fun, I promise! You can also play games focused on a special part of the world or flags of the world.
11 commentsYes I’m back from the Winter CPL in Dallas, TX. I had a lot of firsts for this tournament:
1st tournament
1st LAN
1st time flying
1st time meeting Yvonna, yay!
1st time in Dallas
So I had a blast doing all of those, except for flying because I’m still trembling from the landing part! But I’m doing fine, and I have so many great memories! On the first night there, I was taken out to an amazing dinner to the best restaurant in Dallas, courtesy of Yvonna’s awesome boss. I even managed to meet some really cool guys to practice with. Jeremy (gt-Deathbringr) and Nick (gt-EquiptoPwns) were a couple of really cool guys who were the first to figure out how to hook up their 360’s to the Hyatt tv’s. After that, I found some awesome LAN parties to practice in. Everyone was so nice there and it was way better than meeting guys on XBL, where they can say really disgusting things to you because you’re a girl. All the guys were really respectful there, and thought it was awesome to have some girls there!
