Report from CES Las Vegas - trito

We have limited access to internet from our hotel, so we haven’t been able to write any blogs or updates about what’s going on here at CES. Three days of the events have now past and we are having a lot of fun. We have a nice setup in a gaming area in the Belkin booth (pics will be up as soon as I get back to Sweden). Me and RocketQueen have been taking turns playing shootouts in Unreal Tournament 3 to demonstrate the cool new N52te from Belkin. After each day is over the five gamers that have got most the frags on us have received there own Belkin speed pad. So far we have been doing well in the shootouts and today no one even managed to get a frag against me.

Today we also received a load of Stoked eneergy drinks and I stoked ;) about it since it was my first taste of the drink. It’s good for sure to get some extra energy when you are gaming all days long.

Vegas here I come - trito

Right now I’m sitting at the airport in New York waiting for my connecting flight to Las Vegas. Tomorrow CES is starting and I’m really excited about this event. To be in Las Vegas feels a bit nostalgic for me. The very first trip I went on with girlz 0f destruction was to Los Angeles and E3 year 2005. This is were I met most of the team members for the first time.

What does Las Vegas has to do with this? After the event we stayed some extra days and we took a road trip to Las Vegas. I had a lot of fun with the girls and going back there now will remind me of my first journey with the clan.

I’m also looking forward the shootout in the Belkin booth. First of all we are gonna play Unreal Tournament 3, it feels very fresh to play such a new game. And even though I’m a Quake kind of girl, I still enjoy to play UT 3 a lot.

A couple of days ago I also received my own copy of N52te, the keyboard we are gonna use in the shootouts. Some years ago I was actually looking for a smaller keyboard since I feel my gaming position would be more optimal if I had the mouse and the keyboard hand closer together. I even bought a tiny keyboard, but it didn’t work for gaming since certain keys came in conflict while pressing them the same time. With this unit from Belkin I’m able to put the keyboard hand much closer to my mouse hand and I like it a lot.

The things I am most impressed with using the N52te are the different color maps you can create as well as the key binding.

Using different color maps/profiles you can bind your n52te to work different with different games and programs. And you can even bind a key that toggles the different profiles you have. That is, you an use one profile for FPS games, one profile for racing games and why not use one profile to control windows. Because when you bind the keys you will get many options of how to bind to the keys. You can even record your own macros and have one key press represent several actions, for example a rocket jump.

Keep checking our website during CES, we will try to make updates about what’s going on.

Addictive fun game - trito

worldmap.jpg

Last days I’ve been so addictive to a flash game I’ve found online: Traveler IQ Challange. You get a map of the world, countries are marked out by different colors, but there are no country or city names. When you start the game a random selected city name will show up and you have to decide it’s destination by clicking at the map. You score when you click close to the actual destination and if you click fast.

The best part with this game is that you learn a lot about geography. Because of gaming events and tournaments I’ve been lucky to travel all over the world and it’s extra fun when cities I’ve been to are asked for.

Give the game a try, it’s really fun, I promise! :D You can also play games focused on a special part of the world or flags of the world.

Back from Dallas CPL - Chickamungus

Yes I’m back from the Winter CPL in Dallas, TX. I had a lot of firsts for this tournament:

1st tournament

1st LAN

1st time flying

1st time meeting Yvonna, yay!

1st time in Dallas

So I had a blast doing all of those, except for flying because I’m still trembling from the landing part! But I’m doing fine, and I have so many great memories! On the first night there, I was taken out to an amazing dinner to the best restaurant in Dallas, courtesy of Yvonna’s awesome boss. I even managed to meet some really cool guys to practice with. Jeremy (gt-Deathbringr) and Nick (gt-EquiptoPwns) were a couple of really cool guys who were the first to figure out how to hook up their 360’s to the Hyatt tv’s. After that, I found some awesome LAN parties to practice in. Everyone was so nice there and it was way better than meeting guys on XBL, where they can say really disgusting things to you because you’re a girl. All the guys were really respectful there, and thought it was awesome to have some girls there!

My top 5 games right now - trito

The Quake series have always been close to my heart and will always be my favourite games all time. But from time to time I find other games that take up a lot of my time.  Here is my top 5 list of what games I’ve been playing last month:

1. Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo Wii)
2. Team Fortress 2 (PC)
3. Guitar Hero 3 (Playstation 2)
4. Unreal Tournament 3 (PC)
5. Quake 4 (PC)

What five games are you playing right now?

Creepy gaming anyone?? - Chickamungus

I’ve always been sort of a scary cat. Till this day, I’m still scared of the dark, but there’s something that just draws me to scary movies and creepy games. The first scary movie I remember having nightmares about is Child’s Play. I saw that movie when I was like 5 or 6 years old, and I never accepted a doll ever again as a Christmas present!! The first creepy game that I ever bought was Silent Hill on the Playstation. I remember watching the opening credits with the creepy music with a chill going down my spine and the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. You start off in that game in a foggy abandoned town with nothing but a flash light and a portable radio that statics when monsters are close by. When the town gets dark (or for better words, transform), you’re literally surrounded by darkness with bloodied mangy dogs and distorted creatures chasing you!

It’s the ultimate creepy claustrophobic psychological thrilling game as you venture through the town’s abandoned houses and schools with blood covered walls and desks, and don’t forget about the hospital with the contorted demented nurses! The immense terror that you feel in the darkness of the town, and the way the music brings your heart to a sudden furious beat is the reason that on March 15, 2008 I’ll be playing Silent Hill V. I cant wait to turn on the game and sit through the opening credits with a tingle in my spine and the hairs standing up on my neck!!

Coochie Dimes Interview with G4’s The Feed

While everyone was getting stuffed on Turkey this weekend, I got asked to do a funny interview. Well I had hoped they were being tongue in cheek and indeed they were. http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/681078/Wolf_Kings_Girl_Gaming_Mouse_And_Keyboard.html

Preparing for LA - Liefje

EEK! It’s only less than 12 hours when I will be leaving my apartment for the airport for my 16 hour trip to LA to compete in the world finals in the Championship Gaming Series. I’m a little upset that i’m not on the earlier flight with everyone else leaving from Sweden but I guess i’m just that much of a VIP!

liviaontheroad.jpg

I have been really busy these past few days practicing my butt off while I still can. It’s not that I can’t have practice in LA but it’s different being in a practice room that you can only book for 2 hours at a time than sitting in my comfy chair at home, yelling at people on xbox live.

Aside from meeting all the new people and seeing the other members of the Berlin Allianz I also get another special treat… I get to see g0d*Trinelin again! Sometimes I get sad that the girlz are scattered all over the world but it’s times like these i’m happy about it :) My trip to LA is a bit bad timing since she will be leaving for Sweden just as I arrive! But we do have a few days overlapping so of course we must see each other.
