Yvonna : MVG candidate!

I’m going to write my very first news entry in our newest website and I thought I could write about our beloved mate Yvonna whom participated at the online competition to be one of the selected candidates to become Miss Video Games. She’s been picked as one of the five finalist and because of that, the website for female gamers Femina United, where I am a writter myself, decided to get to know her a little bit better.

She gave her opinion about pretty much everything related to MVG and the Female scene. I selected a piece of the interview as example:

FeminaUnited: How can you help / support other female gamers being MVG 2007?

By being an example that one would not have to have been raised with gaming since childhood or even be the best at gaming to enjoy the heck out of it. I would support the established gamers by recognizing and appreciating the hours of hard work and skill needed to be at the level they have achieved. For newcomers, I would encourage them to continue in their gaming endeavors. From the casual gamer to the hardcore competitive player, I would say “lets meet on MVG!” It is a place where all would be welcomed to go with their gaming interests and for camaraderie. If crowned, I would take use of the media wherever I could to minimize the exclusionary, unsubstantiated rules that some girls in the internet gaming community have placed on the definition of what a girl gamer should be.

You can get to read the whole interview HERE. Enjoy!
