Lately (ok, the past 2 weekends), there have been cups in Quake Live on Sundays. They are quick 1v1 cups but are a lot of fun to play in! I’m forcing myself to play in some so that I can play duel. It’s working too, between those cups and the ESL Quake Live Razer invitational, I am so motivated for duel!
For me it was really hard to find motivation for duel even if I have been playing Clan Arena for many months now, but finally I think I want to play some! Both me and trito entered in the Sunday cups last weekend, and perhaps we will also this weekend! If you want more information on the upcoming tournaments, I would say that over here would be your best bet.
Another really cool thing is that lately a lot of girls have been coming out of the woodwork in Quake Live. These girls are motivated and dedicated, which is really rare in gaming! Best of luck to all the new girls trying Quake and I hope you enjoy it!
Yesterday we played our last group game in the ESL CA Cup. Our opponents were POFFI and we started out by losing one map with one round. After that we shaped up and won the other two maps. We have now 4 wins and 1 loss and it looks like we will make it out of our group. It depends what results the other teams get in their last games, but so far it’s looking good.
To see results and screenshots from our last CA game, head over to ESL site.
I’m playing in the Italian SteelSeries Season of QL 1vs1. There are few players signed in because a premium account is needed and italian quakers continue to prefer ClanBase site instead of ESL site. Anyway, this tourney has a weird structure, it’s a sort of championship. There are Four tourneys with brackets and a Ladder with a single match every week automatically generated.
Actually i didn’t lose any ladder match, but this is not the only good news. I won the Quake Live 1on1 SteelSeries Season Tournament I beating Xh1ne in the final, a player with less experience than me but with a great aim.

We played on tourney7. The match was really closed and my opponent at the beginning was winning, but i did a nice comeback and i took at home the result of 8 to 5, getting 10 rank points!
The Quake Live 1on1 SteelSeries Season Tournament II is almost finished too, and i’m again in final against Xh1ne (we have to play the match tonight!!!) . This time we will play on qzdm6, our favorite map. I don’t know who will win because we played three times for fun on this map and i won just 2/3. Yesterday he beated me on dm6 in another fun-match with a nice score so i’m a little bit worried, but i’ll try to do the best to take another victory!
You can see the demo of the final here!
We have no signed up for Quake Live TDM in ClanBase. There are now 80 clans signed up for this cup and I think it’s really promising when so many clans are interested in QuakeLive. Go here to see a list of signed clans.
Since we want to make sure we are not missing out on any games because our players might be away traveling or working this summer we have also signed some extra players outside the team. You can check out our team at the ClanBase website.
As most of you probably know the Italian skilled girl Videl joined girlz 0f destrcution a couple of month back. Videl has a long history in gaming as she started to play online games 2001. Her first online game was Quake 3 and she stayed with that game for many years. In 2007 she moved on to playing Warsow, but her love for Quake was always there, so when Quake Live closed beta came out, she went back to Quake. She is now playing Quake Live active, you can often find her on european CA servers. She is also playing in the ESL ladders and cups. She has the first position in the Italian ESL ladder.

Do you want to know more about Videl? Check out her profile.
If you are looking for us on the QuakeLive servers you often tend to find us on CA servers. CA is a game type we all girls enjoy playing. Yesterday ESL announced a CA cup and of course we didn’t want to miss out on the fun. We are now signed up for the cup and we are looking forward to some CA action!
To read about the cup, head over to the esl site.
As you all might have noticed there have been some small changes to the site (such as the entire design) while we were going through the process of changing hosts. Luckily, we were able to recover the old database but now all thats lacking are the images that were uploaded previously. Hopefully in due time we’re able to fix that.
Anyway one thing i’m really excited to announce is the absence of spam on our site!! After about 5 hours of going through ALLL the comments and deleting the spam, i’m so happy to say that there is none left!

g0d are going through some changes in 2009 and I know we’ve been bad about updating the site but we will have some really exciting announcements soon, I promise!! Keep your eyes peeled!

We all girls want to wish you all a happy new year!
