Ms.X about g0d

Wow, it's been an exciting few months for myself and team. First off, allow me to introduce us. We are an all female gaming team which was created back in 2001, and we're still going strong today. We've played many different games and mods over the years, as a team and induvidually although Quake III Arena has always been our "base". Currently we have 6 members globally, and are looking to expand. Here's a brief bio on myself and the team:

We have a great group of girls and we've become great friends as well. Things have really come together for us since October of this year, when our team had the opportunity to go into a sponsorship with razer. The next thing I know, 6 of us were packing our bags and heading for San Francisco! We went to the World Cyber Games to demonstrate the new diamondback mouse at the razer booth, and take on challenges from fellow gamers and spectators from around the globe. Despite lack of time to organize it all, it was such a great experience with a great turnout, everyone had a lot of fun. Our focal point now is the upcoming event E3 Expo 2005 in Los Angeles, as there are plans brewing to do a similar setup there. The plot thickens..

RaZeR group

Shortly after I returned home from San Francisco, the folks down at razer Asia asked me if I would be interested in going down to Singapore, to play a shootout at the electronics expo Sitex, November 25th - 28th. To my suprise, once again I was packing up my bags and heading off to sunny Singapore! Life is starting to feel great. I'm a globetrotter at heart so things couldn't be better than this. Upon arrival I experienced first class hospitality at best. Everyone was really great to me, I can't thank them enough. I had a few days to venture about before the event started, so it was nice to see the sights. Singapore is a great place, to everyone planning to attend World Cyber Games 2005 - you will love it! After getting wrapped up in sightseeing, and doing interviews with the press, game day had snuck up on me. Just as I was leaving my hotel to go to the venue, I got quite a disturbing email, to inform me that my dog had died. This shook me up quite a lot, but I also acknowledged that razer was putting up $1000 to anyone that beat me, in this 1 vs 1 Quake III shootout, which was a fraglimit of 12 or timelimit of 10, whichever came first. I put my sadness to the side and focused on what I was there for. Four days and 132 games later, the event had ended and I was undefeated. It was an achievement for me, as I was being warned that all of the hardcore gamers were coming down to kick my butt on the last day. I was in the dark about the skill level of the players in Singapore, so I really didn't know what to expect. The toughest match for me during that four days was against a player named deathlock, which resulted in a 2-0 game on the map ztn3tourney1. We played another exhibition game at the end, which went in my favor of 12-0 on pro-q3tourney4. I was relieved in a way that the event was over, as I was pretty exhausted...it was hard work! I decided to end my trip in Singapore with a bang, and went out and got a little razer tattoo done on my ankle. Now I can poke fun at razerguy as I beat him to it!

Ms.X about Quake3 in general and other games

Although it is in my mind, the best FPS game ever made, I have to say I am getting a bit tired of playing Quake 3. After Singapore I quit playing it completely and got pretty heavy into Enemy Territory, another id software game but it's team based. Now that MsQuakecon has been announced I have been trying to get back into Q3 again, but the interest is not there like it used to be. I will still attend Quakecon this year though, hopefully a lot of my clanmates can make it there as well. I think the female scene in duelling / 1v1 could be a lot better, I find that most female gamers play Counterstrike. I have tried many times to enjoy that game but no matter what I just can't! It's a shame because ESWC is a wonderful event and it must be a lot of fun for the girls that go.

Ms.X and her future plans

As for future plans, that is a tough one...
As much as I hate to think about it, I am getting older and work and other things are preventing me from spending the kind of time with gaming than what I used to. I will always stick with g0d though, we have a great group and we all get along so well..I can't wait to see them again next month!

Ms.X and her favourite players

There's a few who all have different things but LeXeR from Russia pulled the most amazing comeback at Quakecon 2002 and went on to win. ZeRo4 and czm have been such consistent players over the years and I admire that. Fatal1ty's ability to swítch games is pretty amazing too :)

Quake3 future? Opinion about Painkiller

I think right now is a difficult time because there isn't a new game out that has really impressed large groups. It seems everyone has sort of split up and are doing different things, some went to Painkiller for CPL, some are playing CS:Source, some still 1.6, some still with Q3, and so on. I am really hoping for something to come out soon to bring the community back together, but for the time being the only
game that looks promising is Quake 4, but I have my doubts...it looks exactly like Doom 3! I do play some Painkiller on LAN with my boyfriend, he's playing in the World Tour. But overall the game that has my heart right now is ET, but I've recently stopped playing to try and get myself in gear for Quakecon this year. Will I be able to win it again? Who knows, but it would be nice!

Some last words?

I'd like to say a big thanks to my clanmate trito for working so hard on getting our new website together. After years of the same bloody site, we finally have a new one..please have a look as it will be launched in the next day or two! Thanks for reading, gl and hf ;)
