We have got reports Liefje made it safe to the CGS draft in Birmingham. She still has to wait some days before she knows if she gets drafted or not. Her first game isn’t until saturday.

These days it seems like MySpace and Facebook are taking over the world. We have had our MySpace page up and running for several months now, and with all the recent hype with Facebook I decided to create a girlz 0f destruction group there. Although our team (and competitive gaming in general) has had some downtime this year, we are ready to get back into the game and try to promote professional gaming as much as possible. Last week it got annouced WSVG, one of the biggest events, will shut down. The website gotfrag interviewed some of the Quake 4 players about their thoughts about it. Trito was one of the gamers that got interviewed, head to gotfrag to read it.
Our own Liefje is heading over to Great Britain as we speak to compete at the Championship Gaming Series, for Dead or Alive 4 in hopes to get drafted. This is the first attempt by a member of girlz 0f destruction to enter the world of console on a competitive level, so we will cross our fingers for her and hope for the best!
The lucky player that gets drafted will receive a $30,000 USD salary per year so it is definitely a big deal and a wonderful opportunity. The event will run from September 19 – 23 in Birmingham, England. Go go gadget g0d!

When I got back from QuakeCon at the beginning of last month I made the decision to start playing Dead or Alive 4 so I could perhaps participate in the Championship Gaming Series. So far it’s been a rocky start with practice, I didn’t realize that the game itself was so complex. Sure you can only go so far bashing buttons. So i’ve spent the past 2 months memorising juggles and things like that and also studying the frame data of characters. It’s really a lot to learn though and I don’t know how much of it i’ll be able to know by next week.
On Wednesday the 19th i’m off to Birmingham to the qualifier so wish me luck everyone!
WSVG Toronto is over and trito who competed in the Quake 4 tournament ended up top 24. The players she lost to in the tournament were Gelleshak from Canada and ERMAC from US.
We hope we will be able to compete in more WSVG events in the future.
I am at the tournament now and all games for the day have been played (I think). At least I have finnished my games for the day. I first played Gelleshak where I lost both maps. I got moved to looser bracket where I met SoulKilla and won 2-0. I dont think there have been any surprices in the tournament so far, not that I have heard about.
The expo area is really big and you can see all kind of characters walking around there. There have costume competitions and many people dress out like anime, game or movie characters. First think I saw when I got here was princess Peach from Super Mario.
Hi there. I just wanted to say how incredibly tickled I was to get a call from Angel Munoz yesterday. He was as sweet as ever and telling me about all the publicity CPL is getting this year. After some time, he asked, “so Yvonna, I was wondering if you would be interested in moderating our panel discussion?” I thought it over for about a 1/2 second and jumped on the request! The Panel discussion is the main event Saturday Night September 1st in Dallas, TX at the Anatole Hilton. John Romero (whom you of course know from too many stories to mention starting with Doom and Quake), Randy Pitchford (CEO of Gearbox), Tom Mustaine is President of Escalation Studios, Roger Lloyd (co-Chief Operating Officer of Play N Trade) and of course Angel Munoz (President and Founder of the Cyberathlete Professional League) will be on the panel.
